On The Tarmac

The photo above was taken back in June at the Reading WWII Airshow.  I started working on this photo shortly after the airshow but never finished it, until this weekend.  I am far from an airplane buff so I can’t say what kind of plane this is or any other details.  I can say this was one of hundreds of planes on display, and this one seems to garner much interest from the crowd.

    Just saw a WWII story on Smithsonian. This P51 apparently was the hot rod of wwII fighters. Had a 12 cyl. supercharged engine and I believe could cruise at 350 MPH. Accurate gun sights. It also ran circles around any of the German or Japanese aircraft.

    I think you’re right. When these planes were flying they were significantly faster, and louder.
